Hey Brent,

Ive always been a big fan of your work. Ever since your days working with the Toronto Star.

I wish you all the best in your new photography path and I hope you still share your work with us.

If you ever need an assistant, or a beer down here in Miami, FL, just let me know.

It's actually the old bank of Montreal building(almost 100 years ago) situated on the south side of town. Still has the old vaults, and safe, etc. Pretty amazing building!

Is this the old post office in Wallaceburg? trying to recall whether or not this was the old Royal Bank building, but believe it was the old Post Office because of the steps. It's been a good 55 years since I last saw either one of these buildings. If it indeed was the old Post Office, you might be interested to know that I believe your studio is now occupying the old RCMP offices in this Government building. Al

Congratulations on the engagement, Brent!

Feel I'm in the same boat. Now staying in a quiet corner of Denmark, setting up a studio...

Can I update your location on the Gaia site?

take care,
Morten

Brent, what you photographed is how I see Wallaceburg now when I get back there. It is a resilient town, but it has been battered so many times that it is becoming slower and slower to respond.

You need to go back and re-photograph in winter, the bleakness of the landscape under the heavy grey skies really captures how Wallaceburg struggles with an almost manic mood swing from ever hopeful during the summer months to a deep depression in the long winter.

I lived in Wallaceburg for the first half of my life and I have lived the second half in Australia. Your photos have captured the essence of small rural towns around the world. Their people.

I heard about the article from a fellow student at the University of Windsor. We were both taking Risk & Resilience for our Social Work Degree and we were both from Wallaceburg. You did a great job with the photography. She bought the magazine and showed it to me because there was a picture of her dad at the local watering hole on the bank of the Sydenham. While quickly glancing through, lo and behold my niece is the pretty girl sitting on the tail gate of the pick up. It is small world after all. You did your home town proud with this article. And - yes Wallaceburg is indeed resilent and we will recover...
